So here's the deal!! What is a better way of learning how to add and subtract decimals than through food!!!! And Chili's is one of my favorite restaurants!!!! (thinking of a molten chocolate cake now yummy)

So I recreated the Chili's receipt and gave each one of my students a Chili's menu!!! We included tax (powers of ten) and tip!!!!!

Grind Day

After learning new material my students have what I call a GRIND DAY!! They work in groups to determine if extra help is needed!!! I have a group, Mrs Dakin has a group and there is an independent group!! The independent group have different wait times to ask for assistance!!! Calculating Unit Rates through exercising!!!

After my students grasped the concept of unit rates they took a short trip to Ms Archangels gym!!!! They had to complete jumping jacks, situps, and push ups! Then they were required to calculate the unit rates!!!
